Developer (Architect), Consultant, Trainer (https://airhacks.io), Podcaster (https://airhacks.fm) and Java enthusiast Adam Bien (https://adambien.blog) uses Java since JDK 1.0 and JavaScript since LiveScript and still enjoys writing code.

Adam regularly organizes Java / Web / Cloud / Architectures online live workshops https://airhacks.live and monthly Q&A live streaming show: https://airhacks.tv.
Philipp lives to demo interesting technology.

Having worked as a web, infrastructure, and database engineer for over ten years, Philipp is now a developer advocate and EMEA team lead at Elastic — the company behind the Elastic Stack consisting of Elasticsearch, Kibana, Beats, and Logstash.

Based in Vienna, Austria, he is constantly traveling Europe and beyond to speak and discuss open source software, search, databases, infrastructure, and security — hopefully soon again.
Andriy Rodionov is a leader of JUG UA, an associate professor at Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and a "Data Engineering" lecturer at the Ukrainian Catholic University. He is also a Oracle GraalVM Native Image project participant. Interested in microservice architecture and distribution systems.
Patrycja Wegrzynowicz is a software visionary and expert specialized in automated software engineering, security, and Java technologies. She is Senior Platform Engineer at Form 3, Financial Cloud, working on resilient multi-cloud connectivity between AWS, GCP, and Azure. She is also
the founder of Yon Labs, a start-up focused on automated detection and refactoring of software defects, including security vulnerabilities, performance and concurrency anti-patterns, and database issues.
Patrycja is a regular speaker at major industrial conferences, including CodeOne, JavaOne, Devoxx, JavaZone, and others. She was awarded Oracle Groundbreaker Ambassador title in 2020 and 2021. She was also named as one of Top 10 Women in Tech in Poland in 2016 by Girls in Tech.

Patrycja’s interests focus on patterns and anti-patterns in software along with automated software engineering, particularly static and dynamic analysis techniques to support program verification, comprehension, and optimization.
Mikhail has more than 15 years of experience in design and development of financial, communicational and retail applications.

He is an experienced java trainer in software companies and universities.
Rahman Usta is a Java Champion, Trainer, and Senior Software Developer at Luxoft. He is the creator of open-source projects AsciidocFX, and tryjshell.org.

Those were winners of the Duke's Choice Award in 2015 and 2017.

Rahman is a blogger at www.kodedu.com and has authored Java EE 6 and Java 8 books that have helped developers learn about the Java platform.
Grzegorz Piwowarek is a Lead Architect at Hazelcast, trainer and blogger at 4comprehension.com.

He is interested in distributed systems, system performance, and architecture.

There are rumours that he exists only at compile time.

Andrzej likes distributed systems in all shapes and form. Coding since the age of 8, loves simplicity and continuous delivery.

While he has written in many languages, he favours the JVM. Since "most software problems are people problems”, he stirs communities, organizes and speaks at conferences (proud to be a JavaONE Rockstar!). He is passionate about all things data, because science! In his spare time…cycling, photography and books. And he is a Java Champion!
Software engineer with 12 years of experience in areas like navigation, agriculture, healthcare and online games.

Main interests: Java core, RESTful web services, GIS tools and features, web back-end and front-end.

GraalVM Native image
ANDRIY RODIONOV
Should you use GraalVM Native image?

Cloud, microservices, serverless – these buzzwords bring GraalVM Native image to the top as a new form of Java apps distribution.

It allows your apps to have fast startup time, quick scaling and not to depend on JRE.

We will discuss GraalVM Native image compilation steps, how they contradict traditional development practices, and what you should consider to make your application ready for GraalVM Native image.

OpenTelemetry with Java Developers
PHILIPP KRENN
Tracing and telemetry are popular topics right now, but the development is so quick that it also confuses:
* Starting with OpenTracing, then W3C Trace-Context, and now OpenTelemetry there are plenty of standards, but what do or don't they cover?
* How do the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) and its projects like Jaeger play into that.
* Where is OpenTelemetry headed, and how can projects tie into it?

This talk gives an overview of standards, projects, and how they all tie together.
14:15 – 14:55

A Multi-Cloud Cluster Mesh Based on Kubernetes with Cilium
PATRYCJA WEGRZYNOWICZ
One cluster and one cloud are not enough to guarantee highly available resilient architecture for your distributed system. This talk shows a live demo of establishing a cluster mesh across two clouds AWS and GCP using Kubernetes and Cilium.

It explains the configuration details of Cilium cluster mesh along with common mistakes and problems of multi-cloud meshes.

The summary provides guidelines on architectural patterns and functional use-cases for cluster meshes with Cilium.

During this presentation, we'll take a tour of the Hazelcast 5.0 ecosystem and take a look at the basics and hidden flavours.
14:15 – 14:55

JDK 17 in Production. Crazy, or crazy not to?
ANDRZEJ GRZESIK
JDK 17 was released September 14th.

And we can't wait to upgrade!

I will start discussing features that make the 11->17 upgrade so exciting - from code, and observability land.

Then, briefly sharing our 11 -> 17 upgrade experience, explain how we want to approach this migration.

This should set your personal investigation on the right track, and give a solid foundation should you need to upgrade.
